The first Science & Innovation Summit – Latin America 2022 – organized by the Leading House for the Latin American Region will take place on September 30 & October 1, 2022 at the University of St.Gallen’s Main Building and SQUARE. The Science & Innovation Summit. The event is free of charge and open to the public (Find here the instructions for registration).
The event will include research talks, panel discussions and world cafés to analyse different relevant issues for the region, bringing together leading and emerging experts from Switzerland, Europe, and Latin America, on a range of disciplines, including: Life Sciences, Engineering, Maths, Art, Humanities, and Business.
Topics like digital transformation, academic diasporas and brain drain, startups and new technologies, business and environment, and circular economy and smart cities will be adressed.
The Latin-American-Swiss Center (CLS-HSG) of the University of St.Gallen headed by Dr. Ivette Sánchez, has received the mandate of the Swiss Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), to act as Leading House for the period 2021-2024 granting incentives and developing joint research cooperation projects with the Latin American region.
The center keeps bilateral cooperation with priority partners and also develop scientific relations with LAtin America to develop the potential for scientific and technological expansion in the region through following activities: Bilateral research cooperation, communication of opportunities for bilatera cooperation, liaise with the scientific departments of Latin American and Swiss Embassies and with Swissnex.
